As part of its commitment to foster talent GAJ is sponsoring young architect Piyush Prajapati as he embarks on a 12 month Master’s Degree in Urban Design at the Bartlett School of Architecture in London.
Piyush joined GAJ in 2016 as an intern showing a natural flair for design and an enquiring mind and was offered a permanent position within the firm once his internship was completed. He is a graduate of the Faculty of Architecture in Lucknow India and was awarded the Best Architectural Thesis in India by the National Awards for Excellence in Architectural Thesis in 2014. He is also an Advisory Member of IJMAR (International Journal for Multidisciplinary Research).
Having grown up in Delhi, one of the most populated cities of the world, Piyush has developed a fascination for the urban environment earning recognition from the Future Architecture Program for his work on the concept of HEX-A-TRAL which focuses on harnessing energy from human movement in order to create architecture.
“My chosen career in architecture has been an exciting journey so far with challenges and opportunities, and the frank advice and earnest support that I have received from my team and team leaders have been significant factors in my development,” said Piyush. “Throughout my internship I was able to observe, learn test and grow and the confidence GAJ has shown in my abilities means a great deal to me. I am looking forward to studying at the Bartlett School of Architecture and bringing what I learn back to my role at GAJ. ”
The Urban Design MA is a studio-based programme bringing together designers and thinkers from around the world for long term research on the challenges of global urbanisation and the creative potential of design.
Piyush will return to his role within GAJ once he has completed his degree.
