Godwin Austen Johnson has been honoured with three awards at the International Property Awards.

Mysk Al Mouj has been recognised in the Hotel Architecture category and the Hotel Interior category for Oman while Al Bait Sharjah takes the award in the Hotel Interior for Sharjah category.

GAJ’s winning entry for the Hotel Architecture for Oman category is the Mysk Al Mouj in Muscat. Designed around a contemporary interpretation of Arabic patterns, calligraphy and Omani culture the Mysk Al Mouj is an internationally branded hotel operated by Shaza Hotels Group.

Mysk Al Mouj was also recognised for the Hotel Interior for Oman. The local Omani culture was the main inspiration for the interiors of this hotel and the team drew on the country’s rich traditions for the design narrative to produce unique and appealing public spaces.

The third winner for GAJ in the Hotel Interior for Sharjah category is Al Bait Sharjah. The primary aim of the development – from an urban design point of view – was to re-create the intimacy and character of an historic village retaining the traditional elements where possible.

Now in their 25th year the International Property Awards are judged by an independent panel of 80 industry experts and is chaired by Lord Caithness, Lord Best, The Earl of Liverpool, and Lord Thurso, members of the House of Lords in the UK Parliament. Judging focuses on design, quality, service, innovation, originality, and commitment to sustainability.

Regional Awards are staged for Arabia, Europe, Africa, Canada, Central & South America, the Caribbean, USA, UK and Asia Pacific. These will be celebrated at gala presentation events in Bangkok, Dubai, London and Toronto during the course of the year.
