GAJ Trio Shortlisted for MEP Awards

Three MEP team members have been shortlisted for the 13th edition of the MEP Awards.

As a contender for the Electrical Engineer of the Year category Senior Engineer- MEP Sumodh Varghese believes the key to a successful MEP engineer is the ability to be able to adapt to the continually changing MEP landscape. He stays up to date by attending seminars and conferences throughout the year as well as continuing his professional development through regular training.

As a senior engineer Sumodh is responsible for the development of the electrical services for projects preparing detailed designs and engineering specifications as well as reports for the team and the client.

Sumodh also takes the time to develop junior team members training them on the latest software and working with them to ensure a flawless delivery.

“Making the MEP Awards shortlist is an honour and I am incredibly grateful to my team for their continued support, for their belief in me and for the opportunities I continue to experience as part of the MEPD,” said Sumodh.

Shortlisted in the Mechanical Engineer of the Year category Associate-Mechanical Engineering Joseph Samy joined Godwin Austen Johnson as a Senior Mechanical Engineer – MEP in 2017 quickly establishing himself as a capable and committed member of the team. He was promoted to the role of Associate earlier this year and continues to be closely involved in the successful outcome of projects on site.

Joseph’s commitment to resolving tasks at hand has earned him the respect of clients, contractors and those he leads.

“I am delighted to have been shortlisted. The MEP Awards is a key industry event and one that we make sure we attend every year. My thanks go to my incredible team for their continued support,” said Joseph.

Scott Hett, Mechanical Engineer, has been shortlisted in the Young Engineer of the Year category. Scott’s colleagues have come to respect him as a highly committed individual who is driven to broaden his experience and develop his knowledge base. He communicates easily with clients and colleagues and thrives in an environment where collaboration is key.

“This is my first ever nomination for an award and I am thrilled to have been shortlisted as Young Engineer of the Year,” said Scott.

The MEP Awards ceremony will take place on November 6th.
