UAE-based architectural and design practice Godwin Austen Johnson (GAJ) has been appointed by Unaizah Investment Company as lead consultant for the Four Points by Sheraton Unaizah Saudi Arabia.
Located in the Qassim province approximately 350km north west of Riyadh, the new build project will be the first hotel of its type in the Qassim province.
The 130 key desert resort style hotel will have 90 hotel rooms and suites, 30 chalets and 10 villas and be designed to blend into its natural environment surrounded by desert and palm trees.
GAJ’s work will involve concept design and architecture as well as interior design, specialist lighting and landscape design. It will also involve kitchen and spa consultancy services.
Historically an important stopping point for Muslim pilgrims coming from Iraq and Iran on their way to Makkah, today Unaizah is being developed as a key tourism destination for local families.
The project is expected to be completed by 2020.
