Commercial Interior Design is proud to honour the Top 50 most influential individuals who have been at the forefront of the design industry across the Middle East over the past 12 months.
In this issue, we celebrate the passion, aesthetics and energy that drives creativity. We have identified those who are maintaining their positions of power or building a presence within the market. From interior, lighting and furniture designers to contractors, our list is as diverse and extensive as the entire design industry itself.

Godwin Austen Johnson
Kevin McLachlan has 25 years of experience in designing destinations across Europe and the Middle developing successful concepts for the hospitality, residential and corporate sectors from small scale F&B outlets to large scale master-planned mixed-use developments, from Glasgow’s Groucho Club Hotel to Ibiza’s Café Mambo and Dubai’s Madinat Jumeirah. He joined Godwin Austen Johnson in 2012 as head of interior design where he leads a 40 strong team who come from 20 different countries. Under his leadership, McLachlan’s team at GAJ has recently completed Fairmont in Ajman, JA Hotel Palm Tree Court Hotel in Dubai, Grand Hyatt Hotel in Dubai, Grand Millennium Hotel in Oman and Hilton Garden Inn Hotel in Dubai, while Rotana Hotel in Oman and Al Bait in Sharjah are currently under construction. In 2015, his team picked up an impressive three CID Awards – Interior Design Firm of the Year, Interior Design of the Year: Hotels and International Project of the Year.
