The client’s intent was to develop part of this existing facility and create a new four-star hotel of approximately 200 keys without affecting the operation of existing facilities and tenant occupancy. The existing development currently occupies four floors including two basement levels, a ground floor and a first floor. A vertical expansion adds a further three more floors.

From the undulating dunes of the desert to the calm waters of the Persian Gulf, this four-star hotel tells the story of the resilience, determination and spirit of the Kuwait culture. It is the embodiment of the name Kuwaitis refer to as the ‘fortress built near the water'.


The interior narrative is inspired by traditional craftsmanship, past and present imbuing a sense of place and authenticity. A palette of beach-inspired neutral tones and natural textures combine to create harmony and serenity.
