The project which includes a 200 key five star hotel, a 250 key four star hotel, a souk, 65 residential apartments, and a beach club is located 30 minutes south-west of Salalah. The site is primarily a plateau which slopes north-northwest towards the adjacent Aftaelqaat village.
Hills envelop the plateau areas on three sides and a dramatic cliff forms the southern boundary to the site. The site contains an extensive wadi network which links the hills and plateau.
The overarching planning concept has been to maximise the magical views of the Indian Ocean from all aspects of the development. We have sought to create a language which is drawn from a marriage of contemporary architecture and Omani context and influence. Hence we have taken inspiration from the rich and varied history and culture of the Dhofar region at every opportunity.
Reaching out towards the ocean, the spaces are linked via open courtyards and reflecting pools, which will all contribute to giving the guests a magical first experience of the hotel and the Omani waters beyond.
