While inspiration is drawn from the ancient and stunning landscape of the region the intent for the new Museum has taken a more modern approach.

What sets SAMOCA apart from other contemporary art museums is its sensitivity to Saudi culture and values. It seeks to integrate and enhance the urban fabric of Diriyah whilst playing its part in the Saudi 2030 vision. Elements and aspects of Najd architecture are effortlessly integrated into this contemporary building creating a marriage between the past and the present as Saudi Arabia forges ahead with its vision of the future, while celebrating its past.
